This week’s wine is the 2021 @cobbwines Pinot Noir, a delightful, balanced wine that we’re sure all Pinot fans will love! 🍷

👀 Sight:
This wine showcases a medium ruby color.

👃🏽 Smell:
On the nose, it exudes a floral perfume of candied roses, wild berries, lifted orange zest, and clove

👄 Taste:
On the palate, this medium-bodied red is fresh with notes of dusty earth, fresh pomegranate, and cherry, fine tannins, and a clean finish. This wine gives fruit up front with lots of red notes on the palate and classic structure and acidity that has become a hallmark for Cobb Wines.

In 2001, two generations of the Cobb family came together to explore a shared passion for pinot noir with the founding of Cobb Wines. Focused exclusively on crafting single-vineyard, Sonoma Coast pinot noirs, Cobb Wines combines the winegrowing expertise of David Cobb—one of the pioneers of pinot noir viticulture on the far Sonoma Coast—with the winemaking talents of his son, noted pinot noir specialist Ross Cobb.

This week’s wine is the 2023 @bonnydoonvineyard orange blend, an exciting new addition to our list and for good reason! It is delicate and fruity in all the right ways 😍

👀 Sight:
This wine immediately catches the eye with its luminescent amber hue.

👃🏽 Smell:
On the nose, it exudes a medley of fresh apricot, sharp citrus, and the perfume of tangerine blossoms.

👄 Taste:
On the palate, this wine introduces itself with a crisp dryness, before unfolding into a vibrant blend of fruit flavors. Notes of succulent orange, tart cherry, ripe apricot, and a hint of tropical pineapple dance together, with a subtle undercurrent of minerality.

Produced by the iconic Bonny Doon Vineyard, renowned for its pioneering role in biodynamic and Rhône varietal winemaking in California, this wine reflects the unique terroir of the Central Coast with its sunny days and cool maritime breezes. The blend, predominantly Grenache Blanc, along with carefully selected portions of Pinot Gris, Grenache Gris, Orange Muscat, and Chenin Blanc, each varietal is vinified separately and subjected to 14-16 days of skin maceration to enhance flavor extraction and texture.
